چکیده

This paper presents three case-based reasoning (CBR) prototypes developed for the RoboCats, a team of five soccer playing robots in the RoboCup small size league. CBR is used to help the RoboCats plan individual moves and team strategies, as well as to model the world of the playing field. More specifically, the case-based reasoners position the goalie, select team formations, and recognize game states for the RoboCats. This paper also discusses issues and opportunities for CBR in RoboCup and other endeavors in which physical agents must operate in dynamic, real-time environments.

Case Based Game Play in the RoboCup Four-Legged League Part I The Theoretical Model

Robot Soccer involves planning at many levels, and in this paper we develop high level planning strategies for robots playing in the RoboCup FourLegged League using case based reasoning. We develop a framework for developing and choosing game plays. Game plays are widely used in many team sports e.g. soccer, hockey, polo, and rugby. One of the current challenges for robots playing in the RoboCu...

Coordination Approach to Find Best Defense Decision with Multiple Possibilities among Robocup Soccer Simulation Team

In 2D Soccer Simulation league, agents will decide based on information and data in their model. Effective decisions need to have world model information without any noise and missing data; however, there are few solutions to omit noise in world model data; so we should find efficient ways to reduce the effect of noise when making decisions. In this article we evaluate some simple solutions whe...

Fast Path Planning Algorithm for the RoboCup Small Size League

Plenty of work based on the Rapidly-exploring Random Trees (RRT) algorithm for path planning in real time has been developed recently. This is the most used algorithm by the top research teams in the Small Size League of RoboCup. Nevertheless, we have concluded that other simpler alternatives show better results under these highly dynamic environments. In this work, we propose a new path planni...

Distributed, Play-Based Coordination for Robot Teams in Dynamic Environments

We present re nements to our previous work on team communication and multi-robot world modeling in the RoboCup legged league. These re nements put high priority on the communication of task-relevant data. We also build upon past results within the simulation and the small-size leagues and contribute a distributed, play-based role assignment algorithm. This algorithm allows the robots to autonom...

Setplays: achieving coordination by the appropriate use of arbitrary pre-defined flexible plans and inter-robot communication

Multi-agent coordination and strategic planning are two of the major research topics in the context of RoboCup. However, innovations in these areas are often developed and applied to only one domain and a single RoboCup league, without proper generalization. Also, although the importance of the concept of Setplay, to structure the team’s behaviour, has been recognized by many researchers, no ge...
